A BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN BOOK:THE LITTLE FRIEND BY DONNA TARTT

Where on earth  have I been hiding ? Why had I not discovered this author before and read her books?

I cannot decide where to begin about how phenomenal her writing is, this book just blew me away. She writes with painstaking care  – rich in description , complex but flowing narratives. Very intelligently written and it is a work of art in its own form – this is by far the best style of writing I have come across for a very long time indeed.

The story begins with the tragic tale of a child’s death but the story itself focuses on how all the characters fit around  this tragedy , it covers everything from, bias, racism, foul play – the gap between the rich and poor – and religion.

Donna Tartt’s  exploration and explanation of the characters and their environment is outstanding.

This is one book that will stay on my shelf as one of my favourites – I don’t want to part from it.
